The Community Service Directorate is one of the Club’s major areas of activity providing benefit and assistance to a broad cross section of interests including:
  • Circus Quirkus, providing free entertainment for disabled and disadvantaged children, parents and carers, with financial support from local businesses;
  • Foodbank, which collects surplus, salvaged and donated food and grocery products and distributes it via charitable welfare agencies to people in need;
  • Our Place-live, learn, achieve. An integrated package for a cohort of young homeless people in Canberra, aimed at breaking the cycle of no home, no education, no job.
  • Foyer Foundation in Australia, being an active organisational member, promoting the establishment of model programs like Our Place, around Australia;
  • Seniors Concert, providing an afternoon of fine entertainment and afternoon tea for around 400 senior citizens of the Canberra district;
  • Safe Shelter, offering safe, warm overnight shelter in inner-Canberra for homeless men and providing StreetSwags. and
  • Donations to: Canberra Hospital Oncology Ward, NSW Bushfire Appeal, Brain Tumour Research Foundation, St John’s Care, Indigenous Community Volunteers, SnowyHydroSouthCare helicopter service, Salvation Army, Marymead and others.
