Further to a recent Rotary Club of Canberra presentation by Member, Dr Rim el Kadi, on the horrific outcome of the Beirut Port explosion on the 4th August, Rotary Clubs across the ACT and southern NSW (in Rotary District 9705), have joined together to support Rotary Club of Beyrouth (Lebanon).

The Rotary Club of Beyrouth is focusing on supporting the paediatric section of the Karantina Government Hospital, which was severely affected by the explosion and requires funds for equipment and medical supplies. Rotary acknowleges the generous donation of $5,000 from the ACT Government to the cause.
Personal donations to support the rebuilding of the paediatrics department at Karantina Hospital can be made through the Rotary Club of Canberra, to go directly to the Rotary Club of Beyrouth and can be made to: Rotary Club of Canberra Project Account: BSB 012 950 Acc 232936641, mentioning the Rotary Club of Beyrouth.
